Dr. Graeme Saruk, PsyD, R. Psych.
Dr. Graeme Saruk is a Registered Psychologist providing individual and group counselling services. He has worked extensively with adults and families from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. He works with his clients to address a wide range of issues and concerns, including:
- Depression and grief
- Fear and anxiety
- Stress management
- Substance abuse and addiction
- Adjusting to major life changes
- Poor motivation
- Interpersonal problems
- Chronic pain
- Disability and illness adjustment
Dr. Saruk specializes in cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused therapeutic interventions; focusing on the way thoughts, behaviour and relationships impact our mental health and everyday living, as well as seeking practical solutions to managing personal barriers and struggles. He utilizes empirically supported practices to provide his clients with the most effective, timely and lasting results possible.
Dr. Saruk completed his Master’s degree at Boston University before going on to do his doctorate in clinical psychology at Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Saruk manages a clinical practicum program, providing training and supervision to psychology students from SFU and UBC. He also serves periodically as an adjunct faculty member at Trinity Western University. He is a member of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, Canadian Psychological Association, and American Psychological Association.
